1. What are type of stairlifts are there?
There are two types:

  1. Straight Stairlifts: for straight stairs normally 12-14 steps.
  2. Curved Stairlifts: these are custom made to follow the turns of your stairs.

2. Do stairlifts fit to the walls or the stairs?
All our stairlifts fit to the steps of the stairs.

3. How long does it take to install a stairlift?
Installation usually takes a few hours. The stairlift is attached to the stair treads, not the wall, the process is quick, clean and simple.

4. How much will a stairlift cost?
You can call us on 1850 280 080 for a guide price or to arrange a home visit and provide a prompt written quotation.

5. Where can I get advice whether a stairlift is right for me?
Your occupational therapist is the qualified person to assess your current and future needs and will often specify what you require.

6. Do I have to pay for a quotation?
The answer is no, we will provide a free home survey with a no-obligation written quotation.

7. I have a narrow stairs; will a stairlift fit?
We need 25"(630mm) to install a straight stairlift or 28.5"(725mm) for a curved lift.

8. How soon can I get my Stairlift installed?
We carry the straight stairlifts in stock and can be fitted within a week. The curved stairlifts usually take 4-5 weeks from ordering.

9. What if there is a power failure?
Our stairlifts will continue to operate for up to a dozen times using the battery back up, and recharge when the power returns.

10. What about backup service?
We offer a 12-month guarantee and a 24-hour breakdown service nationwide.

11. Is there a grant available?
Yes, you will need to contact your local county council and ask for disabled persons grant (DPG).

12. Are Barron Lifts Ireland Limited Authorised Contractors?
Yes, we hold a current C2 registered contractors tax card, we work for all the County councils throughout Ireland.
